In sales and marketing, Step #1 is to execute the sales that make money and execute these sales fast. Step #2 you need to get people on the phone. I’ve recently done videos on the statistics of getting people on the phone.
Step #3 use social media! Did you know that 78% of salespeople who use social media outsell their competitors? One of my biggest mistakes was trying to do everything on the cheap for years, and it cost me in sales. If I’m being honest, probably hundreds of thousands of dollars, so invest in what you need and then execute quickly on your investment.
Step #4 develop a referral sales system for your inner circle of people who actively seek out and exploit referrals. This method can help your business make four to five times more money than your competitors.
Step #5 get sales training. On average, salespeople take about 10 to 12 months for an employee to learn sales because you don’t have that kind of time to wait and make money. Since you’re juggling many different aspects of your business, you’ll want to get sales training. The good news is it doesn’t have to take that long to understand sales. Step #6 tell stories in your marketing. After a sales presentation, two-thirds of people will remember the stories you told, and only 5% will remember the pitch. Step #7 ask for the sale and actually go in for the close. It’s not enough to just sell. Your close involves asking for payment such as Visa, MasterCard, or American express.
Step #8 When in doubt, get more visible. This will help you get in front of more leads and generate more revenue, and Step #9 spend more money on marketing. Once you know what works, you can organically convert sales. A huge mistake people make is starting a business and throwing all their money into Facebook ads without having been able to close sales organically first.
